The New Day def. Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable

Following a vicious war of words on social media over the weekend, The New Day squared off against Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable, as SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos offered their unique insight while providing guest commentary after The New Day served them some pre-match pancakes.

In a high-octane contest that saw all four competitors shine, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston triumphed by dropping Benjamin with an emphatic UpUpDownDown for the 1-2-3.

WWE.com: The New Day Square Off With Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable

Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable have been quite the confident tandem ever since they earned the right to challenge SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, then defeated the champions in a title match, albeit by countout.

The mat-wrestling masters believe they should get another crack at Jimmy & Jey’s titles, which doesn’t sit well with four-time Tag Team Champions The New Day. The two teams have been going back and forth on social media, leading to a tag team showdown being made for SmackDown LIVE. Who will emerge victorious?

Shelton Benjamin def. Jey Uso

With his squad’s count-out victory over The Usos in a Tag Team Championship Match two weeks ago still looming large, Shelton Benjamin looked to continue the momentum for himself and Chad Gable as he squared off against Jey Uso on SmackDown LIVE.

With their respective teammates watching on at ringside, the two Superstars electrified the WWE Universe in an all-out slugfest. With momentum shifting back and forth in the squared circle, Jimmy and Gable started to throw down on the outside, which led to Benjamin evading a big splash from Jey (who had just dispatched Gable) and connecting with Paydirt to pick up the crucial victory.

Jimmy Uso def. Chad Gable

Prior to Jimmy Uso’s match against Chad Gable, he and his brother Jey made it clear that Raw Tag Team Champions Sheamus & Cesaro will not just be stepping into the ring with the SmackDown Tag Team Champions at Survivor Series; they would be stepping into The Uso Penitentiary.

Gable & Shelton Benjamin notched a controversial count-out victory last week during their SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match against the Samoan warriors after Gable took out Jey Uso with a savage chopblock, so Jimmy was fired up from the get-go and looking to gain retribution for his twin tonight.

The Usos, who will attempt to clear The Bar this Sunday, picked up major Survivor Series momentum when Jimmy overcame his opponent by connecting squarely with a wicked Superkick for the 1-2-3.

Team Chad Gable

Chad Gable’s approach was to combine old-school tag teams with his new-school style. He started with two-time WWE Tag Team Champions Rick and Scott Steiner, because they helped shape his move set. “I modeled myself after them, and they were way ahead of their time,” Gable said. To keep the tag team theme going, he added legendary Mid-South duo The Fantastics, Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, who he considers vastly underrated. “If you got that amount of talent on one team, it would be one of the most memorable of all time.”
